Beeing back on holiday from the ships I thought I'd try out the infamous Canal Cub in Wolverhapmton. And I'm glad I did. This is such an excellent venue. You can not imagine until you've been there.
This event has only been going on a couple of months and is battling well against the wolverhampton massive. I know this town quite well (what with my mum being from a family of 11 kids from this town - and so about 50 cousins and 2nd cousins) and know how difficult it must be to compete agaist the Black Country R&B, which is what most places in this city/town? listen to.
Liquid, from only getting a couple of people on their opening night they have grown to a reasonable size, though they are desperate for more bodies to arrive on a Friday night. Saturdays, with their funky beats is always sure to draw a crowd but Friday's struggles a little.
That's the pity as I know there are plenty of trance addicts out there in the west midlands, but sceptical to come out as they don't know what to expect. Don't hide - come out and support this event. You will not be disappointed. It is very uplifting and very friendly.
Unfortunately, as the idiot I am, I forgot to bring my charged battery (yes, I bought another so my pics wouldn't stop) with me so only managed to get a couple of the venue before they opened to the public.
So, only a few will be posted on the pics section but you can see from them that it is indeed a great venue. So keep an eye open for future events. There have been so many big names playing here and it will continue.
Maybe one day soon I will also be playing, so you better be there.
Adios amigos,
Sean
